Cascades has a pretty unique history. One of the first management principles of the company, re-using resources, is still being applied 45 years later. Today, recovery and recycling are recognized environmental values that we continue to promote within our company. More than 2.2 million tonnes of old paper and cardboard are re-used as raw material in our plants instead of being sent to a landfill. This meaningful gesture helps save the environment.

 

Moreover, Cascades does more than just recycle old papers. Ever committed to reducing its environmental footprint, the company has long promoted the re-use of water to reduce the amount taken from the rivers. Cascades is therefore very proud to have an effluent rate six times lower than the industry average in Canada.
