Hugues Simon has over 30 years of experience in the forest products sector. On June 17, 2024, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascades and was appointed to the Board of Directors. Before this, he held significant leadership roles at Resolute Forest Products from 2005 to 2012, and later at BarretteWood Inc., where he became President in 2016, overseeing four companies and more than 3,000 employees. In 2021, he returned to Resolute as President of its Wood Products business unit. An accountant by training, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Université de Sherbrooke in 1993.
